Product description

The Franco regime prevailed and was maintained by force but at the same time used the social discourse of fascism to present itself as a national and social regime at the same time, and thus try to obtain the consensus of broad sectors of the population. Unlike what happened with respect to other European dictatorships, until now Spanish historiography has not devoted relevant attention to the regime's action to capture the masses. This book approaches speech and policies deployed from the institutions of the regime during the post-war period for the first time to reinforce the popular support that it already had and, above all, to penetrate and seduce workers. Through its pages it will be possible to know the mobilization and propaganda around social justice, Girón's workers' speeches, the construction of Trade Union Works, the penetration of the Women's Section in the domestic sphere in exchange for milk and soap when the Misery was omnipresent. A dictatorship imposed on blood and fire, which had different political priorities and scarce economic resources, had many difficulties in convincing the disaffected, but this book shows how much it tried.

Excellent pages, a little edge and cover wear.
