Cover, in brown boards with gilt and red titling to spine, is in very good, clean condition. Internally the book is in good, clean, bright and firm condition. Attractive colour bookplate (from the library of Julia Jones) on ffep. A couple of removed sticker marks on ffep and ditto on rear endpaper , otherwise no marks and no creases, inscriptions or tears. The unclipped dustjacket is in generally good, clean and bright condition with a little light shelfwear to top edge and a little fading to spine and lower edge. A fascinating history of the part played by women in the Crimean war, illustrated with a number of period photographs and portraits.
