Ramakrishna Mission, Institute of Culture, 1975. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Included. 4 volumes (652, 738, 695, 775 pages). Hardback with brown cloth boards and titles in gilt to spine and a gilt motif to the front, in very good condition with just minor bumping to spines. All volumes have dustjackets in very good minus conditition, with just some chipping. Vol.1 has as a small tear (3 cm) at the top edge, and vol. 3 is missing from the top. Vol. 4 has heavier chipping at front side and bottom. The jackets are all tanned on the spine, but titles are still legible. Text-block edges are lightly tanned with clean interiors. Vols. 1-3 are a little marked on ffeps by dustjacket flap. All volumes have footnotes, black and white plates and illustrations (except vol. 3), bibliographies and indexes. Contents: vol.1. The early phases (Prehistoric, Vedic and Upanisadic, Jaina and Buddhist) - vol.2. Itihasas, Puranas, Dharma and other Sastras - vol.3. The philosophies - vol.4. The religions. Each chapter / topic by individual authors, the entire work under editorial supervision. This is a 1975 reprint of the second revised and enlarged edition published between 1953 and 1962. The complete set is heavy and will incur extra postage.
