Product description

Book has light tan canvas boards with decoration on front board, black & colour illustrations. "A survey of the owners, history, and architecture of this outstanding building [in Devon, England] which dates substantially from the late fourteenth century. Part Two analyses the building in detail. It is preceded by a survey of residential architecture in England during the late fourteenth century and followed by a discussion on aspects of the original design of the Hall in the light of contemporary and later developments in the field of domestic architecture. Although the book is primarily concerned with a single building, material is included which touches upon many aspects of fourteenth-century history and architecture."
