A number of ancient dug-out boats have been found in the lakes and bogs of Wales and the Marches. Dead Men's Boats tells the story of their recovery and describes the places where they were found. It is illustrated by photographs and line - drawings, many of them made in the reserve collections of museums and presenting boats not usually seen by the public.

The Lian-gors canoe is the most famous of all the buried boats of the area. Here is a description of this historic canoe, and its retrieval and preservation, is enriched by an account of the early mediaeval setting in which it is thought to have been made.

The book has a pink cover and black lettering to the front and back.

There is an inked inscription in the upper section on the front endpage.

All four upper and lower outer corners on the front and rear cover have bumping.

There is a sticker mark on the front cover.
