As-new condition, near fine. No dust jacket but stylish soft card wrap band - 9 cms wide, adorned with artistic designs.
Nave blue boards, extravagantly thick and dense. Gilt titles to front and spine; discreet Chinese text to the front face; all very classy. One small blemish from the manufacturing process, 1 cm that is easily concealed behind the wrap.
A heavy book with black paste downs; fine translucent gold end paper. As-new inside: the off-white pages have dark shadowing to the peripheries.

Lots of fine quality colour plates of the fabulous artifacts, dating back to the fourth century, that were discovered in the Mogao caves in Northern China.
