Grenville, London, 1973. English Edition. 717 & 429, 2-vol. set, profusely illus., footnotes, bibliography, index. These books are the result of many years of study of the literature and archives, as well as the examination of ancient and modern weapons, and includes the descriptions of the weapons, the history of manufacture, and the biographies of the most important inventors and arms manufactures.
First published in Prague 1956. Both volumes in protective plastic sleeve. Volume II contains 1104 illustrations, in a separate volume for easy reference in conjunction with the text in Volume I. Volume I, page 276, discusses the Gatling repeater which proved effective in Cuba during the Spanish-American War.

Both books have red cloth covers with gilt lettering. They came covered in a plastic protective sleeve which on our copies have some damage. Both books have the previous owner's details blind stamped on the first free end paper. There is light yellowing to the margins of the pages. There is no slipcase.

Welcome to Oxfam Books And Music Olney, situated just off the market square in Stanley Court opposite the Co-op. Come and browse our extensive selection of books, music, DVDs, computer games and cards. In our shop you can discover a great range of material from the latest modern fiction to classic literature and vintage LPs. We are always happy to receive your donations of books or music, and you can choose to Gift Aid them to Oxfam. We might also be able to collect particularly large donations - just ask. We are always interested in hearing from people who wish to volunteer with us. Just pop in to collect an application form.

Could you help us by collecting donations from donors homes? Our shop receives many offers of generous donations that we have to turn down as we do not have volunteers able to collect. We would ask you to collect in your own car, at your convenience and reimburse your petrol costs. It might be a couple of times a month and would make a really big difference to our ability to make money.
