Internally the book is in good / very good, clean and tight condition with just a trace of light tanning to page edges. Neat pen inscriptions on front free endpaper. Dustjacket, which is price clipped, is in fair to good condition commensurate with age, with shelfwear to edges and along spine edge, a little bumping to speine extremities and a little creasing / fraying to bottom edge of back and some fading to spine. A comprehensive, scholarly, fascinating and sweeping history of this great North American river. Winner of the Pulitzer and Bancroft prizes for history which 'transcends regional history and soars far above the river valley with which it deals'.
