Journal de Nuit - Bordeaux Pendant L'Occupation (Bordeaux during the Occupation)

£11.99

Product description

Please note: The text of this book is in French.

A spoiled child of the Bordeaux bourgeoisie, at the age when one plays to make the war, is driven by chance, then by spirit of adventure, in a network of the Resistance. He will feel good alone throughout the terrible years or Bordeaux will suffer from the Nazi occupation, but there will always be someone to save him. Then enthusiasm will succeed to discouragement, in turn swept away by the bitter disappointments that will follow and mingle, first in Bordeaux itself, then on the Medoc front.

Hard but beautiful vision of a teenager whose mind is gradually organized to the spectacle of a relentless world.

This night diary, which is largely autobiographical, includes illustrations from the Bordeaux and Gironde archives, as well as photographs of the author.

There is slight shelf wear tot he edges of the covers and spine. Otherwise the book is in excellent condition throughout.
