Libyan Log - E.G.O - 1941-42

£10.99

Product description

Foreword by Group Captain K B B Cross, DSO, DFC. The Group Captain says the book 'mainly tells the story of fighter Force which secured the air flank of the eighth Army during its campaign in North Africa from November 1941 to March 1942. It is a tribute to a band of very gallant fighter pilots, many of whom did not return...and is written by one who shared equally with us the hardships, anxieties and triumphs of the desert war'.
The book contains black and white photographs, the great majority of which are Air Ministry pictures.
The author's initials are in red and the 'o' of Log is the Air Force red, white and blue roundel. Five small blue fighter planes fly across the top right hand corner of the front cover. The back cover advertises Thoth Bookshop at 27 Soliman Pacha Street, Cairo. The title appears in blue on the spine, which is a little torn at the bottom. Both covers have tanning. The top, fore and bottom edges have foxing. The inside covers have a little foxing and tanning but the pages are generally clean. The binding is acceptable.
Small paperback. Published in 1942 by Thoth Bookshop, Cairo.
