Melbourne Ten

£49.99

Product description

Melbourne Ten, by Brian J Rapier. Published in 1982 by Air Museum Publications (York) Ltd.

The book takes its name from RAF Melbourne, at which 10 Squadron was based in World War Two. Melbourne Ten contains contemporary views of life and death from a number of diaries, the happenings, trials and tribulations of a bomber squadron in action and at rest. Illustrated with many previously unpublished photographs and drawings, this edition carries several two page panels giving details of 10 Squadron Halifax aircraft including raid dates, airframe numbers and markings to view as an ongoing index.

This book is in a good condition, although the dustjacket shows signs of shelfwear, with a small tear at the top of the front cover and small tears at the top and base of the spine (please see photos). The front endpaper is slightly faded. Internally, the pages are clean and the binding is sound. Includes a separate sheet of handwritten notes made by a previous owner on the the alphabetic code, the navigator/flight engineer/gunner log illustrated on the front cover, and photography.
