North Dakota

£12.99

Product description

Sub titled: A Bicentennial History. A volume in ‘The States and the Nation; series. Photographs by David Plowden.
North Dakota has an image problem: Its “extreme remoteness, great size and sparse population” results in it being thought of as an unattractive place to live, but it has weathered its disadvantages. Here its history is related by a husband and wife team from the University of North Dakota, they shed light on a state that has the image of a frozen empty space. The state has been sparsely populated from the pioneer days but this history fills in the blanks about the people and cultures that live and have lived here.
W W Nortton Hardback with intact DJ. The upper edge of the DJ covering the front board has a couple of 1 cm vertical tears but it is otherwise in good condition. The grey cloth covered boards are in very good condition with a gilt design on the front and gilt lettering to spine. Some black and white photographs. There is a handwritten dedication on the title page to Peter and Shirley Berlin signed by both authors. No other marks and the binding is good. Slight foxing to top of pages. Some minor shelf and reading wear.
