Parson Jack Russell

£8.99

Product description

Revd Jack Russell was the epitome of the 19th century hunting person. A true sportman and countryman, he developed the strain of terrier with which he will ever be associated, and by the end of his life he was virtually MFH emeritus for the whole of fox-hunting land. No Devon sporting occasion was complete without him and, in time, his fame as the "Sporting Parson" or just plain 'Jack Russell' became celebrated nationally. But Russell was not just a good fox-hunter , he was also a good and popular parish clergyman, robust, life-enhancing, a man of peace and a good neighbour and friend to all classes and conditions from royalty to farm labourers.

Book has green cloth covered boards with gilt lettering to the spine . Condition is very good with clean pages throughout and securely bound. The dust jacket has one small crease to the bottom of the spine, otherwise clean and in very good condition. Printed in 2000.
