Robert Walmsley re-examines all the evidence concerning the Peterloo Massacre which occurred at St Peter's Field, Manchester, England, on 16 August 1819, when cavalry charged into a crowd of 60,000–80,000 people who had gathered to demand the reform of parliamentary representation.
The book is in excellent condition, but sadly NO DUST JACKET, Photograph for illustrative purpose only, with the blue boards with guilt lettering showing only slight wear. Originally printed in 1969 by Manchester University Press, This copy is a first printing of the American edition, printed by Augustus M. Kelly in the same year.
Internally the book is remarkably clean with little sign of wear, only a slight dent to the top edge of the cover.
Published to mark the 150th anniversary of the incident, an ideal starting point for research as the bicentenary approaches.
