The book is in very good, near fine, condition. The binding is sound and tight with no creasing of the spine. Some fading of the front cover and spine.

“This book describes the fishing industry at Port Isaac from the days of sail until the mid 1960s when wooden boats began to be replaced with fibreglass. It includes details on fishing methods, superstitions, characters, seasonal fisheries, the weather, coastal marks, myths and legends, hardship, local sayings and a list of fishing boats and their owners and masters. Difficulties working such a hazardous port are also explained.”
