No. 38 of a limited edition of 500 copies; hand numbered, with the signature of Sir Donald Harrison. Dedication note penned to Sir David Weatherall on the opening blank page. Half bound in embossed calfskin. A very opulent volume with gilt page edges, and green silk ribbon marker. Illustrated throughout with black & white and colour photographs and other drawings.

Includes a chronology of the RSM, its Presidents, RSM events and general medical milestones. The main part of the book is a chronological history of the Presidents, their biographies, iconographies and biobibliographies. Includes many appendices and an index. A fascinating and detailed history of some of the key figures in the history of medicine.

This book was kindly donated to the shop by the Weatherall family. Sir David John Weatherall, GBE, FRS (1933 – 2018) was a British physician and researcher in molecular genetics, haematology, pathology and clinical medicine. He founded the Institute of Molecular Medicine at Oxford, which was renamed the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine in his honour in 2000 upon his retirement.

In superb condition. Fresh, crisp and clean throughout.
