Pyrrhus, King of Epirus

£39.99

Product description

For every thousand people who talk about "a Pyrrhic victory", it is doubtful if even one knows the barest facts about the life of Pyrrhus : and yet the Ancient World considered him a hero and strategist worthy to be compared with Alexander the Great and Hannibal.
Petros Garoufalias had brought together all the material, literary and epigraphic, ancient and modern to form a narrative which is not only of great historical interest but an enthralling story.
The book is in very good condition, with slight bumping to the lower spine end and light foxing speckles to the upper text block edge. The jacket has some rubbing wear with surface loss along edges, and light handling marks on the glossy surface. Inside pages are clean and bright and there are four sections of b/w photographs plus three pages of diagrams.
The book would be very useful to history scholars, as well as being of interest to general readers who are curious about the turbulent events and great figures of the Ancient World.
Weighing over 1 kilo, the book requires courier delivery.
