Ribble Motor Services Limited Part 1,2,3 and 4

£40.00

Product description

Ribble Motor Services Limited
The PSV Circle & The Omnibus Society, 1978-84.
In 4 volumes:
Part 1: 1919-1931 (Fleet History 2PC1): 96 pages
Part 2: 1932-1950 (Fleet History 2PC14): 90 pages
Part 3: 1951-1964 (Fleet History 2PC17): 75 pages
Part 4: 1965-1984 (Fleet History 2PC19): 44 pages.
Offered with these volumes are loose, separate amendments and supplementary information sheets; a loose, folded map of the Ribble Express Service Route (June 1957); and a flimsy loose, folded tissue map of the Ribble Daily Express Services (nd).
Soft-bound; 210 x 300 mm; cream flimsy card covers with titles in red on covers; red cloth spines. No dust jackets.
The books are in good condition. They are typescripts held together by staples. The bindings are sound although in the latter 3 parts the cloth spine binding has either come away along one side or is beginning to come away from the contents. The covers are slightly grubby as are the edges of the amendments and maps with chipping and dog ears as is to be expected. There is a vertical crease on the back cover of Part 4. There is some foxing and tanning to the edges of the leaves.
The detail in these books is exceptional, listing the fleet livery, fleet numbering, etc, etc of the vehicles used by the Ribble Motor Services. It updates the first Fleet history published in January 1957. It will immediately appeal to all with an interest in transport, especially the history of the bus services in this area.
