Product description

Round about Palestine by Rev A R Ennis

Published by the Young Men's Christian Association of Great Britain with H.M. Forces in the Middle East, [1942.]. Originally intended for men and women serving with the British and Allied forces in the Middle East. The book describes historical sites and the foreword suggests it was also intended to make readers aware of the problems confronting the future of Palestine and to engage sympathy for those 'who live in this beautiful land.'
Inserts left in the book include a map of Tel-Aviv Jaffa, 'Camp' information and a card advertising details of Hotel Nes-Ziona, Tel-Aviv.
Used hard back book with green boards, no dust cover.

FIRST EDITION. Very good copy in the original title-blocked cloth backed-boards. Slightest suggestion only of dust-dulling to the spine bands and panel edges. Remains particularly well-preserved overall; tight, bright, clean and strong. Previous owner's inscription on first blank page 'Jerusalem 29th March 1943
Coloured folded map of Palestine inside front cover dated 1941, printed in Palestine. Two smaller maps of Palestine and the walls of Jerusalem. Black and white photographs
