Originally published in 1936, describes in detail one of the greatest battles in modern times. Even allowing for the rapid technological developments of the last 30 years, this reprint still has a great deal to offer navy personnel and military historians. Although the battle was basically a large indecisive action fought in the North Sea in 1916, many of the problems encountered are still relevant today. Also, there were several interesting situations and many actions of extreme bravery, such as Admiral Beatry, with one third of his force blown up before his eyes, turning two points closer to the enemy; and Admiral Scheer, returning to the fray against a far more powerful foe to rescue the doomed Wiesbaden, and much more.
