In 1743 George Bickham published a famous work called "The British Monarchy; or a new Chorographical Description of all the Dominions subject to the King of Great Britain.

This book of 240 pages contained 48 maps (including 43 bird's eye county maps) and was lavishly illustrated with engravings.

The text was a brilliant example of penmanship beautifully engraved with an interesting geographical account of all the countries of Britain and its Empire.

This unique and magnificent book is now for the first time re-published in perfect facsimile.

The book has red boards with gilt lettering to the spine.

There is very minor wear to the outer upper and lower edges of the front board and rear board.

There is minor bumping to the upper edge of the spine. There is wear to the lower edge of the spine.

The dust jacket is in fair condition. There is significant wear to the outer upper front edge of the dust jacket.

There is wear and tear to the upper edge of the spine. There is staining to the lower centre of the spine. There is tanning along the spine.

There are stains and foxing to the rear of the dust jacket. There is wear and tear to the upper edge of the rear of the dust jacket. There is wear and tear to the lower edge of the rear of the dust jacket.

There is foxing and stains on the inside of the dust jacket particularly at the hinge of the rear to inlay. There is wear to the rear outer edge of the dust jacket.

The front end pages have some minor foxing.

The rear end pages have some minor foxing.

The upper outer and lower outer page edges are tanned.
