The Great Turning Point

£12.00

Product description

Used paperback - good condition. Slight shelf wear to spine. Contains fold-out map at the end. Tightly bound. Internally bright and clear.

Reminiscences of revolutionary struggles providing a vivid record of the period of great historical change from 1945, the end of the War of Resistance Against Japan, to the founding of the People's Republic of China. This was the period in China's democratic revolution in which a final, decisive battle was waged between the revolutionary and counter-revolutionary forces. After four years of heroic struggle the Chinese people, led by the Chinese Communist Party headed by Comrade Mao Tse-tung, eventually gained a great country-wide victory, overthrew imperialism and the reactionary rule of its lackeys and founded the new China. The writers of the nine narratives in this collection are all leading cadres who took part in the revolutionary struggles personally. Their lively narratives are made up of the stuff of real life. They are true historical records. In "The Bankruptcy of the U.S.- Chiang Kai-shek Peace Plot,2 we see how in the early stages of the War of Liberation the Communist Party of China used revolutionary tactics to fight against the counter-revolutionary two-faced tactics of the U.S.-Chiang reactionary clique. The remaining narratives, in describing the important campaigns, elucidate the military strategy and tactics of Mao Tse-tung and show the revolutionary armed struggles and the heroic fighting life of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. This book will provide the materials for the readers to understand the victory of the War of Liberation of the Chinese people as the brilliant victory of the great strategical thinking of Mao Tse-tung.
