The Pageant of the Century

£52.00 Out Of Stock

Product description

The book details events in World (and primarily British) history from 1900 to 1933. The book has green leather-covered boards and spine. The front cover has embossed profiles of Queen Victoria and the Kings Edward VII and George V. The spine has the book title in gilt together with an embossed heraldic design. The corners show some bumping and there is a little shelf wear. The hinges are in good condition and the pages are reasonably well bound to the spine considering the large number of pages (704), although the spine is "bulging" out in some places. The pages are reasonably well-cut but are significantly discoloured. One leaf (pages 451 and 452) is torn towards the top of the book such that its side edge is sitting proud of the rest of the book. Throughout the book are sepia-tinted photographs of events in the first 33 years of the century, particularly those in the 1914-1918 Great War (World War I).
