The Palestine Diary 1914-1945: Britain's Involvement - Includes a foreword to the third edition written by Robert John and a foreword to the book written by the late British Historian Arnold J. Toynbee. These are followed by a comprehensive introduction to Jewish and Arab Nationalism completer with numerous notes throughout. Numerous black and white maps, tables and notes are found throughout the book. A useful appendix listing the documents used in the study are also included. Comprehensive list of references and index are found at the back of the book.

The Palestine Diary 1945-1948: United States, United Nations Intervention - Includes a short preface to the second volume. Three black and white maps are found throughout the book, their locations are noted on the contents page. Two appendixes are included: A statement by the committee of the Christian Union of Palestine addressed to All World Religious & Political Bodies, and a letter by the Arab Higher Committee for Palestine top the Prime Minister of Egypt dated 8 March 1948. Thorough index and list of references.

The Palestine Diary is indispensable in understanding the 9/11 attacks on the USA, and Middle East terrorism. It explains the origins of continuing Middle East wars and the war on terrorism, showing their origins in national and international politics and the two World Wars-with a facsimile of the once "Secret" British document promising independence for Palestine.

Robert John is a foreign affairs analyst, lecturer and writer on diplomatic history and international affairs. he served as an elected official for the Conservative Party from 1954-1957.
Sami Hadawi is a lecturer and writer. During the period of 1920-1948 Hadawi served in the Palestinian Government.

Both volumes are in very good condition. There is noticeable creasing near the spines on both volumes and some very slight scratches on the front covers of the volumes. Some light marks on the cut edges of both books, but this does not show on the open pages. Tight bindings and clean pages.
