Condition: used good, pictorial front cover, bumping to upper corners of covers and pages, some yellowing of pages, sewn binding, one page (3/4) of local adverts is loose. 'Parish Library' sticker on front paste down. Illustrated with b/w photos, plans and line drawings.

Also known as the Old Church of Jarrow and originally linked to the monastery the Venerable Bede came to as a boy and where he later died in 733BC, the Church of St Paul's, Jarrow-on-Tyne became a parish church after the Dissolution of the Monasteries. This history of the church written circa 1933 includes chapters on the nave, tower, chancel and the monastic ruins.
