Bernard & Graefe Oct 2004, 2004. Book. Condition: New. Neuware - Lieutenant General Walter Jertz was born in Mainz in 1945. After graduating from high school in Oppenheim, he went to the Air Force and was trained as a pilot. For several years, Jertz flew the legendary Starfighter as a pilot before he was trained as a General Staff Officer at the Bundeswehr Command Academy. There followed a number of national and international uses. In mid-June 1995, General Jertz was given direct command of all German Air Force forces deployed in peacebuilding in the former Yugoslavia. After a total of six months, he returned to Germany. From the end of April 1999 until mid-June 1999, Walter Jertz served as military spokesman for NATO during the Kosovo conflict in Mons and Brussels. In 1983 he was retrained as one of the first Luftwaffe soldiers on the tornado. From 2002 to 2006 he served as commander Luftwaffe Command in Cologne mania. He was responsible for the operational air force. He was awarded the 2006 KulturPreisEurope Special Prize for his efforts to help children in crisis areas 216 pp. German
