Printed for G.G. And J. Robinson, Pater-Noster Row, 1796. Full-Leather. Book Condition: Very Good. 5 volumes. Contemporary full-leather bindings and titles in gilt to spine in nvery good condition. Five decorative gilt bands to the spines and gilt stamping to edges. Volumes 1 and 3 have slight creasing to spine. Corners bumped and edges rubbed. Volume 3 has heavier bumping to top right 8 cm across. Text blocks clean, tight and bright. One previous owner's name inscribed in black ink to ffep; another owner has name stamped in black ink in each volume. Volume 1 includes translator's preface. Volumes include notes after text. Bibliographical footnotes to volumes 1-4. Volume 4 also has 12 tables - Names of illustrious men, arranged in alphabetical order, principal epochs in Grecian history, Athenian money reduced to French (and English) among others. General index at the end of Volume 4. "Translated from the French". Volume 5 consists of "critical observations on the maps of ancient Greece" by M. Barbié du Bocage, then followed by 31 folding maps and illustrations of various sizes in near fine condition. All the illustrations are on supple paper. All maps are black and white, apart from a few which show boundaries in colour. A heavy item that may well incur extra postage.
