Uneasy Lies The Head: The Autobiography of King Hussein I of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

£50.00

Product description

No, not the autographed edition presented to Jackie Kennedy on 24th April, 1964. Never mind, console yourself with the thought that this would have set you back some £3,500. The good news is that a mere £50 buys you all the same words in precisely the same order - an appropriately entitled account of Hussein bin Talal’s troubled reign (1952-99), including: adventures at Sandhurst; courtship and marriage to Toni Gardener (Mina el Hussein); assassination attempts; controversial dismissal of the much-feted British Glubb Pasha; relationship with Egypt’s Colonel Nasser; his country’s role in the Six Day War; visits to USA and suggestions regarding the future of the United Nations. And very much more.

A hardback first edition (1962) in acceptable condition from Bernard Geis of New York, including jacket and b&w photos. All at one fortieth of the cost. What’s keeping you?

Uneasy Lies The Head: The Autobiography of King Hussein I of the Hashemite kingdom of Jordan, published by Bernard Geis 1962. Dust jacket condition: Acceptable - numerous nicks and chips to top and bottom of jacket. Book condition: Very Good.
