Hardback; 180 x 250 mm; brown boards with black titles on spine, and a pictorial paste-on title on the front cover; 111 pages. No dust jacket. Twenty-five illustrations in monochrome.
The book is in very good condition and printed on good quality paper. The binding is sound. There is a slight mark on the pictorial cover. The verso of the front free endpaper is annotated in black ink “Wendy Adams July 12th 1987 Bibury – Arlington Mill”. On page 29/30, bottom corner, is the impression of a symbol based on the letter Z. A single spot of foxing on page 52.
The book does exactly what the title says. The author was born in 1912 and he recounts his experiences as a youth living in the Coln River valley in the Cotswolds 100 years ago.
