A nostalgic look at toys from the past which can be enjoyed by children of all ages and serious collectors. All sorts of toys are covered from pull-along ducks, to jigsaws, puzzles, books, hoops, yo-yos, soldiers, space toys, dolls, dolls' houses, board games, kites, models, farmyard, automata etc. Antique Toys is both an informative reference work, and an enchanting book in its own right.
Published by London Chancellor Press in 1971, this volume is complete with its unpriceclipped dustjacket which is chipped at the top of the spine, bumped on the corners and scuffed on the back. The volume is bound in dark blue cloth with cream lettering to spine and an image of a rocking horse in cream to front and rear boards. The boards are rubbed along all edges. The book is fully illustrated with full page coloured illustrations and black & white illustrations in the text, over 500 black and white drawings and 58 examples on eight colour plates. Detailed information includes recognisable makers' marks. The pages are yellowing but are free from marks and inscriptions.
