Product description

Illustrations of 37 carpets woven in eastern Turkey. Innovations in these carpets and illustrations was to name the weavers and their villages, and also to get the weavers "to approach their work personally". This led to people, animals, buildings etc being introduced into the designs. A loose note at the end indicates that the carpets were put on display at the Oriental Rug Gallery in St Albans in 1992. Text in English and German.

Hardback book in good to very good condition. Ends of spine and corners bumped. Shelfwear along top edges. Creases to surface at edges of spine and on back board.

Oxfam Books & Music Berkhamsted

Located in the centre of the historic market town, we are open seven days a week. You will find a wide and interesting range of stock, including a great selection of children's books, popular and classical music on vinyl and CD, vintage Penguins and other paperbacks, and quirky and collectable items. Our stock is selected by knowledgeable volunteers, catering for both general readers and specialists. We are happy to check our backroom stock for wanted items and also offer a request service. Our themed windows are usually changed every two weeks, with our December Christmas displays offering a diverse and unusual range of gift ideas.

We welcome your donations, which can be brought to the rear of the building (via the Lower Kings Road Car Park). Please contact us before bringing large quantities to discuss arrangements.
