Catalogue of Highly Important French Furniture, Tapestries, Clocks and Works of Art

£9.99

Product description

Catalogue of Highly Important French Furniture, Tapestries, Clocks, and Works of Art
Sotheby & Co, London, 1963.
Hardback; 190 x 255 mm; light green boards with black titles on front cover; 116 pages plus 126 plates, one in colour. No dust jacket.
The catalogue is in fair to good condition. The binding is sound. The covers are worn and grubby, and a small area of the surface of the front cover has been torn off. The edges of the leaves are only very slightly grubby, visible when the book is closed. But the contents are printed on good quality glossy paper and generally clean.
The catalogue relates to a proposed sale on 22 November 1963, and included property of the Rt Hon the Earl of Hartington removed from Elvaston Castle, Derby; property of Mrs Corinna Kavanagh of Buenos Aires; property of Monsieur and Madame Marcel Boucher of Buenos Aires; and property of Mrs Derek Fitzgerald removed from Heathfield Park, Sussex. It will appeal to those with an interest in the sort of items indicated in the catalogue’s title, their provenance, descriptions, and photographs.
