The Book of the Dog

£18.99

Product description

A comprehensive account of the dog. The book is divided into three parts, with chapters from many different contributors. Part I includes (amongst many others) chapters on domestication of the dog, it's place in history, breeding and training. Part II is devoted to each of the different breeds. Part III includes chapters on dog trials and shows, different kennel clubs, and the dog in literature. Green cloth boards with gilt decoration to the front and rear boards and titling to the spine. The gilt on the spine is badly faded and the title is barely legible. Some marks and stains to the boards. Page edges are a bit dusty. Pictorial end papers. Some light foxing affects the prelims and first few pages of the text, and then the last few pages of the book. The book is otherwise clean and tightly bound.
