The Cool Greenhouse (illustrated)

£6.99

Product description

A first edition, published in 1935 by Putnam, this volume is in a fair condition overall. The dustjacket is in a poor condition. It is torn along the top edge and heavily chipped along the bottom. The green cloth boards are bumped at the corners and discoloured along all edges. There is some foxing and spotting throughout the volume. However, it is intact and the colour and black & white plates are all in situ.

The book is illustrated with many scenes from the author's own houses. It describes how by utilising annuals, in addition to the more usual cool greenhouse plants, a succession of plants in bloom may be obtained throughout the year.

Oxfam Bookshop Hexham

We relocated in January 2016 to larger premises and are now able to offer a wider range of books and music (you can come and check out your musical choices in our listening booth and also find out a lot more about Oxfam's work.). We have a new local interest section, more space for history and have extended our craft and arts offer.  We also sell cards, fair trade food and ethical cleaning and beauty products.

Hexham is a market town situated in the beautiful Tyne Valley - the ideal stopping off point before exploring Hadrian's Wall, Chesters, Housesteads and the Temple of Mithras at Carrawburgh.
