The Youthful Lover and Other Prose Studies

£100.00 Out Of Stock

Product description

Ten short prose pieces with a mildly homoerotic aspect by a writer who has been described as one of the 'Uranian' poets who published works between 1858 and 1930.

The book is quarter-bound in grey and green and the covers have a noticeable range of soiling marks including some white ring-marks of unknown origin on both front and back. Corners and spine ends are bumped and the corners are worn with small surface loss; text block edges are dust-soiled and many of the leaves are unclipped. There is one narrow minor page-break but otherwise the binding is sound. End papers are lightly dust marked; inside pages are clean with only occasional minor marks.

The author has written an inscription, to a Mr Carter, on the front free end paper, dated May 20. 1921. Of special interest is a letter attached to the front end paper, dated May 29. 1921, written by the author to Mr Carter, thanking him for sending a Triolet, which Mr Carter has subsequently copied onto the reverse of the letter. Also, one of the author's cards is attached to the top of the front end paper.

An item of particular interest to collectors.
