36-Page, Full-Colour Guide to the 1964 Movie "My Fair Lady" (Hepburn, Harrison & Holloway)

£5.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

This is a lovely, thirty-six page, full-colour guide to the movie "My Fair Lady", a cinematic version of the Broadway musical of the same name, which itself was an adaptation of the 1912 George Bernard Shaw play "Pygmalion".

The guide was published in 1964, the same year as the movie's release. It includes appraisals of the performances of : Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle ; Rex Harrison as Professor Henry Higgins ; Stanley Holloway as Alf Doolittle (Eliza's father) ; Wilfred Hyde-White as the suave Colonel Pickering ; and, Gladys Cooper as the Professor's elderly mother.

Other textual content, includes : Appraisal of Jack Warner, as producer of the movie (sample Photo Two) ; appraisal of Director, George Cukor ; genius of Song-writing / Music-Composition Partnership, Alan Lerner & Frederick Loewe (plus, a list of all the songs and music in the two-act, original play - sample Photo Three) ; and, appraisal of Cecil Beaton, the designer for the movie ; a full credit-list (Cast & Production Crew - sample Photo Six) ; ... and other text.

(Photos One to Six, give samples of the guide)

Marks : Only one pen-mark found in entire guide, namely the half-inch pen "swipe" on lower-centre left-side of Cover (see Photo One, it's barely noticeable).

Foxing : Again, none to be found.

Dog-Earring : A 3mm x 2mm dog-ear on top-right of centre-page (Photo ? {Showing colour pic of Hepburn as cockney flower-girl on left-page, with text headline "She's Really Got It!..." ; dog-ear is almost imperceptible on top-right of colour photo on right-page}). This dog-ear runs identically for the next three right-pages. Aside from this tiny flaw, no other dog-earring.

Spinal-Wear : No physical wear at all - remarkable, given the guide's fifty-plus-years age -, only spinal-colour-fading on cover (sample, Photo One).
