Publisher: William Kimber, London, 1970, 1st edition. Hardback, 192 pages, no dustjacket, illus in b&w by Ralph Steadman. Ex-lib copy. Cover, in dark olive green boards with gilt titling to spine, is in fair to good / acceptable condition for ex-lib copy with some shelfwear /handling marks, a little creasing to spine and a darkish stain at bottom right front corner. Internally the book is in generally fair to good condition as expected from an ex-library copy. Neat library stamp on publishing history page. Front hinge is weakened but overall binding is firm. Surface tear on front fixed endpaper, some light foxing here and there and on page block edges. Overall a more than acceptable 1st edition copy but just a little below good. A fascinating collection of observations on pop music and pop musicians by the esteemed music journalist, broadcaster and writer Tony Palmer, wonderfully illustrated in his unique style by Ralph Steadman. A tremendous read and a wonderful snapshot of the pop music golden era scene of the 1950s and 1960s.
