'This Bossa Nova' brings together stories of Brazilian music told by Roberto Menescal, one of the creators of Bossa Nova. The book is divided into two parts - the first devoted to the stories of Bossa Nova, and the second to the MPB stories lived by Menescal during his time as Artistic Director of PolyGram. Menescal's stories bring the first encounters between those who would be the protagonists of one of the world's music movements, the behind-the-scenes show at Carnegie Hall and the impact of that night on the lives of those involved in the movement. This event changed the direction of the musical genre that had been born years before in the shyness of Bossa Nova muse Nara Leao's apartment. Maysa, Astor Piazzola, Roberto Carlos, Dorival Caymmi and Villa Lobos are some of the characters in these stories.

The book is in excellent condition throughout.
