'The boy looked at Johnny': The obituary of rock and roll

£30.99

Product description

This book is in very good condition, with only some very minor shelf wear.

Considering themselves "the only unbiased rock writers in the world", Julie Burchill and Tony Parsons wrote this book with the aim burying all praise for the rock and roll produced in the 1970s. They prided themselves on their notoriety, which warranting threats from everyone from suited up lawyers to "tooled-up" gangsters, and they pulled no punches in taking aim at the "cocaine-scum rock stars and the valium-choking record conglomerates". The book features a warning that it is not meant for those readers who wish to retain admiration for these music idols, but it is instead for those who want to blow the lid off the movement "for the first and last time".

The initial pages of the book also feature wonderful black and white photograph of some of the key idols of 70s rock and roll (see photos).
