£95.00

Product description

Pub c. 1869. 174 pp. with illustrations by Pinwell, Small, Houghton, E. and T. Dalziel, Lawson and Watson - all present. Engraved by the brothers Dalziel. The boards are rubbed and bumped at the extremities but most of the gilt embossing and lettering is still legible. The gilt on the cut edges is still bright. The binding is cracked but not detached at the front and still attached by the binding fabric. The binding is loose at p136. There are traces of handwriting inside the front cover and a faint incomplete circular stain on the front endpaper. There is a pale water stain at the very bottom of the first 20 pages and also on pages 109 to the end. Most pages have a degree of pale foxing. May incur higher postal charge.

Oxfam Bookshop Reading

One of the largest bookshops in the Oxfam network, Reading Books has more than 5000 different titles in the shop at all times. We have unusually large sections in science fiction and fantasy, literature, history, travel, children's, business and the sciences. There is plenty of space for browsing and a couple of chairs for customers who wish to inspect books more closely. We also have a catalogue of about 1000 collectable books that are kept in the backroom, and these can be brought out for customers to view on request.
