First published in 1932, this 1971 re-print, edited by Carleton Brown, is in a fair condition. The sleeve has a one inch rip to the top front of the spine, fading to the spine and edges and scratches and creases to its edges from how it has been stored. A price sticker has been removed from the back of the sleeve, slightly lifting off the top layer of the corner. On the front inside fold of the sleeve there is a previous price label. There is also a small grease mark to the front cover, The hardback cover is in good condition apart from some minor creasing to the edge of the spine and its corners from how it has been stored. The 312 pages are clean and include an introduction, 91 poems, notes, glossary, an index of persons and places, and an index of first lines.The page block has brown spotting to its top and less so to its side, and black marks around the bottom corner, all only noticeable when the book is closed. There is a crease to the bottom corners of pages 215 to 218 and a small brown mark on the inside cover page.
