Irish Melodies and National Airs

WAS £14.99 £4.99

Product description

A very scarce collection of Irish melodies, including "Dear Harp of My Country", "Rich and Rare Were the Gems She Wore" "Quick! We Have But a Second", "Oh! Arranmore, Lov'd Arranmore", "There Are Sounds of Mirth" and "The Wine-Cup is Circling". They are beautiful to read: hope, sorrow, wonder and gladness shine through these verses, and many are accompanied by elucidating footnotes. The book itself is in good condition: it has green cloth covers, with both blind-tooled and gilt decoration, slightly rubbed at the edges and corners, The page edges are slightly darkened, the pages a little yellowed. There is an owner's name inked inside, dated 1911, and some slight surface loss to that page.
