Theatre World Monograph No. 6 - Paul Scofield

Arguably one of the greatest Shakespearean and theatre actors of the 20th century, Paul Scofield (1922-2008) is best known for his Oscar-winning role as Thomas More in the film A Man For All Seasons (1966).
1956 monograph published as part of the Theatre World series chronicles Scofield career with numerous photographs of his stage performances and is signed by Scofield himself with the following message: ''My very good wishes and thanks for your kind letter'' (no date/addressee given).
1st edition copy in fair condition: purple boars with faded gilt lettering on the spine and discolouring at the top and bottom. Unclipped dust jacket damaged and torn into separate front and back parts with spine missing. Good binding; no missing/loose pages.
