Product description

Published in 1977 by Khudozhestvennaya Literatura and Progress Publishers. Leather bound with gilt lettering and dust jackets with all three volumes, each having a ribbon page marker.

Foreword written by Nikolai Tikhonov, the first Chairman of the Soviet Peace Committee and winner of the International Lenin Prize for the promotion of peace among nations. Also includes a useful index of all authors in Russian, English, German and French.

Volumes I & II give a selection of European poets from multiple European countries translated from their native language into Russian, English, German and French.
Volume III gives a selection of poetry from the USSR in Russian, translated into English, German and French.

Condition is very good, the binding are in fantastic condition on all three volumes, tight binding and generally clean pages throughout. Volume II does have a bit of staining to a few of the pages' edges.
The dust-jackets on all three volumes are in good condition but do have noticeable scratches and fading to the spine.
End-papers are gold oil marbled with bookplates giving the name of a previous owner in all three volumes. The ribbon bookmark is frayed near the bottom due to shelf wear.
