The surviving Works of Anne Wharton

£49.99

Product description

Anne Wharton (1659-1685) was an English poet and verse dramatist. This hardback book, edited with textual notes and commentary by G. Greer and S. Hastings, includes her biography, manuscripts, texts, details of portraits of her, her poems, Love's Martyr, poems addressed to Anne Wharton and Burnet's letters to Anne Wharton. This 374 page first edition is in a fair condition, with the first page cut out and the odd pencil note from a previous user. The dust jacket is protected by a cellophane sleeve and has some small brown marks, especially around the folds and some minor creasing and tearing to the top and bottom from when it has been stored. The hardback cover itself is in good condition apart from again some minor creasing to the corners and top and bottom of the spine. Apart from what already described, the pages themselves are in good condition apart from some brown spotting to the page block, most notably on the top, only noticeable when the book is closed.
