Introduction by Prof. Isaacs who claims this book to be ' the first rounded attempt in English to analyse so subtle an ingredient as the manipulation of time.' The book is in 3 parts:- The General Problem, The Theory and The Practice. Dr Mendilow's examples extend back to the 17th and 18th century fiction. with special attention given to Tristram Shandy. However, the book ends with a Note on Orlando and attention is given to Henry James, Thomas Mann and Proust. A pioneering work in this area. Dr Mendilow was head of the English Department at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. £24.99.

We have a selection of scarce older titles at the front of the shop as well as departments devoted to History, Children's, Art, and various subcategories of fiction. In addition to the books, we also have 9 shelves devoted to CDs, 2 racks of vinyl, stacks of sheet music, comics, DVDs, and framed pictures. All of our stock is donated.
