The Bath And Bristol Regional Planning Scheme Maps

£90.00

Product description

A slip case containing nine large maps relating to the Bath and Bristol Regional Planning Scheme 1920s -30s. The nine folding paper maps, printed by Partridge & Love of Bristol, are 3 ins to the mile (see scale illustration) coloured detailed maps showing land use at the time, plus proposed roads and railways. Each map measures @ 30x32 inches, all fitting together to make one very large map ! there is some wear and tear and just a little loss, and some sellotape repairs mostly to the back, but still an interesting and attractive set of maps. Believed this set is meant to accompany Abercrombie and Brueton's book of the same title published 1930, which originally consisted of 2 volumes, vol 2 being maps and now a very scarce item rarely offered for sale. In fact the only complete sets we could locate were in the British Library, Somerset Heritage Centre and University of Melbourne Australia. Slip case in good condition for age, spine and titles are faded.
