Very large format, five volume set of The Times Atlas of the World published from 1955 to 1959. All volumes have blue cloth hard covers and gilt titles on the spine and front, tight binding and no inscriptions. The dust jackets are all tanned and vary in their condition: volumes I and II are intact with edge wear and a little chipping; volumes III and V are missing their spines and have extensive wear and chipping at the edges; volume IV is more complete but there are two long horizontal tears across the spine and front as well as edge wear and chipping. Volume I, World, Australasia & East Asia, has some light foxing on the pastedowns. The rear board of volume II is deformed with a gentle inwards bend about 10 cm from the spine which extends most of the way down to the lower edge. The volumes are: I World, Australasia & East Asia (1958), II South-West Asia & Russia (1959),III Northern Europe (1955), IV Southern Europe & Africa (1956), V The Americas (1957). Very heavy set will require courier delivery. Each volume measures 50cm x 32cm.

Lymington is on the South coast, bordering on the New Forest National Park which was created as a Royal Forest in 1079 by William the Conqueror, and first recorded as 'Nova Foresta' in the Doomsday Book in 1086. Our Oxfam Shop at 73, The High Street is in a lovely Georgian building, the tallest in Lymington. The elegant Georgian buildings lining the wide main street were built mostly for merchants in the local salt trade. The famous Saturday market brings the town to life with its variety of stalls. The area is renowned for outdoor pursuits, including camping, sailing, windsurfing, and surfing, as well as forest walks and horse riding.
