"Being the authentic edition of Webster's unabridged dictionary, comprising the issue of 1864, 1879, and 1884 thoroughly revised and much enlarged under the supervision of Noah Porter, D.D., LL. D. with a voluminous appendix, to which is now added a supplement of Twenty-Five Thousand words and phrases". Half leather, with brown leather on red cloth boards, red title plate to spine with gilt titling. A few minor blemishes to the covers, and light rubbing to head and tail of the spine. Upper page edges are red. Page fore edges and lower edges are a bit scruffy. Decorative endpapers, possibly not original. Heavy staining to frontispiece engraving of Dr Webster, and verso. More moderate staining in red to upper and lower margins of the title page. Scattered foxing throughout. The final page of the Supplement has chips to the upper and lower edges, and is missing a small part of the page in the lower right corner (which does not affect the text). Tightly bound, and overall in good condition. Weighs nearly 5kgs, will be sent by courier within the UK.
