A Nazareth Manifesto

£14.99

Product description

A Nazareth Manifesto is an eloquent and impassioned ecumenical proposal for re-envisioning Christianity's approach to social engagement away from working "for" the people to working "with" them. Wells argues thatwe are so focused on doing things for people - and often find ourselves wondering why they appear so resistant to or ungrateful for our intervention - that we have lost sight of the importance of being with people. Jesus spent 90% of his life simply being among the people of Nazereth, sharing their hopes and struggles - and so similar emphasis must be placed on being alongside people in distress rather than hastening to impose solutions.

Paperback book in good condition. Cover in good condition with minor signs of shelf wear. Interior VG - clean with no marks or inscriptions.

Oxfam Shop Leicester Market Street

The Oxfam Shop in Leicester specialises in books, music and bridalwear. The shop has two floors. The first floor consists of a large book and music department along with our great range of Sourced by Oxfam products. The second floor is mainly bridal wear including mother of bride and eveningwear.

Could you help us by collecting donations from donors homes? Our shop receives many offers of generous donations that we have to turn down as we do not have volunteers able to collect. We would ask you to collect in your own car, at your convenience and reimburse your petrol costs. It might be a couple of times a month and would make a really big difference to our ability to make money.
